Dear Raquel,
I am very happy to be writing this letter because you sold our home for top dollar and in a very tough
market. When it came time to sell our home, we knew that we were going to interview three real estate
agents. Neither of us knew any of the agents, so each one had the exact same chance to land this listing.
The reason your name came to us was because of your business partner, Carol Gervasi. In 1997 Carol did
John and I a favor by running the local comps in the area so we could lower our property taxes. She
cheerfully ran them, dropped them off at our house and wanted nothing in return.
I kept her business card all these years and I told John, when we go to sell our house, I want to call her.
Fast forward to 2009. I called your office and got Carols cell phone number. When I called her and said I
would like to interview her, she told me about her business partner, Raquel Magro, who did the actual
property open houses and showing of clients properties. So we called and made an appointment with you.
And it turned out to be your day off, but you came anyway! I never knew that until recently because you
never told us. You made the appointment on a day that was convenient for us. Neither John nor I had ever
met you before our interview. We interviewed three different agents, all on the same day, two hours apart
as it turned out. You were BY FAR, the most through of those agents. You not only walked the property,
you even looked in the water heater closet (nobody else did) and told us about all the local codes required
to close a home sale in this day and age. NONE of the other agents did that. I felt you gave the best
information and both John and I felt comfortable with you.
Lastly, when we called and told you that you had the listing, but we needed to make a trip to Arizona (our
new home) before we could sign anything. I told you exactly when we would be back and that we could
finalize the paperwork then. You were ok with that. You didn’t run right over and demand a signed
contract. I personally didn’t feel any pressure to sign the contract until I was ready, which was great. I
never felt any pressure by you (or anyone in your office) to do anything I didn’t want to do. Then when you
sold our home (in FOUR days, with multiple offers) and we started escrow, Lauri kept us going. She never
failed to return an email or phone call (you did too by the way) promptly. The whole process was done by
email, fax, or overnight delivery. We moved to Arizona two days before you listed our home. Except for
the very few items left to show the house, we would not have had to return at all. Now that’s service! I
would absolutely list another home with you (if I had one in California) and I would give you and your
team a big “thumbs up” for the whole process. I would recommend you to anyone who is thinking of
moving. You were honest, upfront and very comfortable to work with.
Even though I didn’t need them, I loved the idea of you supplying moving boxes to your clients! We
actually had a bunch of boxes, but if I would have had to buy them. They aren’t cheap!
